LINC/ESL E-learning Program (LEEP)
The goal of LEEP is to offer learners, in Merton Centre’s LINC/ESL classroom program, access to several online courses that are CLB-aligned. Learners will have the opportunity to develop their language skills while expanding their knowledge base in a variety of interesting subject areas.
Types of Courses
1. Full Courses
In each of the full courses, you will learn sector-specific vocabulary and concepts pertaining to Canadian life and living, in depth. These courses take you through a series of units that are engaging and interactive, culminating in an end-of-course assessment. You can expect to take anywhere from 35 to 50 hours to finish one course. After completing the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
2. Mini Courses
Each mini course is focused on just one specific topic. You will learn about a given topic in depth and develop a fuller understanding of the issue. You can expect to take anywhere from 10 to 15 hours to finish one mini course.
3. Micro Courses
Each micro lesson has been designed to provide you with reliable and specific information under a broader topic, and in one place. For example, if you are looking for information on Vaccination (under the broader topic of Health), all you have to do is to take this micro lesson to enhance your understanding of the specific topic. You can expect to take anywhere from 2-5 hours to finish one micro course.
